Amazon launched its thinnest Kindle Voyage EBook Reader

Amazon launched the Kindle Voyage EBook reader in India at a starting rate of Rs 16,499. The Wi-Fi plus 3G version is also available at a price of Rs 20,499. The EBook reader will be available at and one can also buy through 350 plus offline stores across India.

As per Amazon this Kindle Voyage is the thinnest EBook ever and it features a high resolution with 300 pixels-per-inch display. There is a new adaptive front light and improved page turns. The new adaptive front light enables reader to read the EBook at dark as this feature slowly lowers the display’s brightness over time as the eye gets used to darkness.

The Voyage EBook Reader is 7.6 mm thin with flush glass front and magnesium back. It also offers PagePress, a new way of turning pages using a custom-designed force sensor that is situated directly under the bezel. The Pages of EBook can be turned by simply putting the thumb over the bezel and then turning the page by pressing it lightly. As the user turns the pages the Voyage gives the tactile feedback from a haptic actuator.

The Kindle Voyage EBook has battery life that remains for weeks. The Kindle software has features such as Whispersync, Time to Read, Smart Lookup, Vocabulary Builder, Kindle Page Flip and social sharing support.

According to the Kindle India’s country manager Rajiv Mehta this EBook is designed in such a way that it can give best experience to the readers. The readers can read through this EBook for hours without eyestrain. It is possible to even read it in bright sunlight.
