APPLE TO SPEND $1.9 BILLION ON NEW EUROPEAN DATA CENTERS

Apple is set to create two new European data centers that will be entirely powered by renewable energy. Not only is this good for the environment something the company has always been in the fore front off, but also it will bring with numerous of job opportunities for those living in those areas.

According to Apple, the two new centers, which will be located in Denmark and Ireland, will power the company’s online services. The online services that will be handled include Siri, iTunes store, Maps, iMessage and Apple’s app store.

The investment which Apple will be making will be divided equally between the two countries. The Irish government has already confirmed that 850 million Euros will be spent in the operation which is set to begin in 2017 in both Ireland and Denmark.
When speaking about the two new projects, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said that, “This significant new investment represents Apple's biggest project in Europe to date.

"We’re thrilled to be expanding our operations, creating hundreds of local jobs and introducing some of our most advanced green building designs yet," he added.

In Denmark, Apple’s new data center will situated in the western parts of the country in a place called Viborgbe, while in Ireland the data center will be located in the Ireland’s west coast in a place called Athenry.

Apple’s investment is a big deal for the two countries, in-fact Denmark’s Trade and Development minister issued out a statement that mirrored that of Apple, adding that Apple’s new data centers will be the largest in the world.

Ireland’s government was also quick to acknowledge the investment by Apple stating that the multiple phases of the project by will create over 300 jobs for people living in Galway.
